Why I'm Not Your Typical 'Women's Photographer' – And That's a Good Thing!

I'm Not Your Typical “Women's Photographer” – And That's a Good Thing!

Ladies and gentlemen (and everyone in between),
allow me to share a little something that's been on my mind. You see, in the world of photography, there's a trendy marketing move where photographers label themselves as “women's photographers”.

While I appreciate the strategy, I must admit, I find it rather bemusing. But don't worry, I'm here to tell you why it's all in good fun – and why I do not specialize only as “women's photographer”.

The niche of contemporary photography for women who want to celebrate themselves

As a good marketer, it is clear that it is important to define a niche, be it of landscape photography or taking pics of newborns.
But, let's tackle the elephant in the room.

Me, a “women's photographer”?
Well, that would be quite the plot twist, wouldn't it? I mean, let's face it, if I started promoting myself that way, it might come off as, shall we say, a tad bit creepy. And nobody wants that!

Now, here's a little background on yours truly. For most of my adult life, I have had the privilege of also being a yoga teacher, guiding over 10’000 students from more than 80 nations in my classes. Yep, you read that right! Yoga, the great unifier, brought me close to people from all walks of life, all genders, all corners of the globe. During my yoga journey, I honed the art of working closely with individuals from very diverse backgrounds.

And with predominantly women of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds attending my yoga classes, I learned to bring out the best in them, to help them overcome their objections and improving their strengths.

All of this rich experience has helped me work with my female clients for their contemporary portraits. I see my mission to capture their vulnerabilities and showing their strengths, and to showcase confidence and professionalism in every shot. And each time that I need to demonstrate a specific stance – or the occasional sexy pose – we burst into uncontrollable laughter!

No Labels, Just People

So, you might be wondering, “What's the deal? Why isn't Patric Pop jumping on the 'women's photographer' bandwagon”? Well, it's simple, really.

I'm not here to slap labels on my clients or myself. I'm here to celebrate people – all people with the very best images that they ever have seen of themselves.

Photographing Confident, True Superwomen – and Supermen Too!

Now, don't get me wrong, I adore helping my female clients shine as the confident, true superwomen they are. But guess what? I extend that same support and empowerment to the supermen, superkids, and super-everyone I have the pleasure of working with.

So, there you have it. I'm not your typical 'women's photographer,' and I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm here to capture the essence of every individual, to celebrate their unique strengths, and to create images that tell their stories – no labels required.

Let’s talk about your project

If you're ready for a photography experience that's all about you, your confidence, and your unique superpowers, let's chat. Because in my world, it's not about 'women's photography' or 'men's photography' – it's about people photography, plain and simple.
